General Information

The English version of the school homepage was created by pupils of year 11 (course e7) as a project in their English lesson.

Our school

is attended by about 1300 pupils. The main focus of our education is on maths, science, art and languages (e.g. Chinese) but also on personal responsibility and social skills.
Our school is over 300 years old and has always tried to support the pupils in their personal development- this includes general knowledge and integration into society.

We want to achieve this by teaching:
- skills which are related to specific subjects
- skills for independent learning
- social skills

Pupils

The years 5 - 7 have 150 pupils, who are divided into 5 classes. The years 8-10 have only 4 classes.
The younger pupils (years 5 and 6) can join a “care after school”, where pupils can eat, do their homework and play with friends.
Pupils can also change to our school from a different school in year 11 if they get a qualification for the A-level years in their old school.

Location

Our school is located in the center of Münster. It is easy to get there by bike, bus and train.
Because of the good location there are a lot of facilities which pupils can visit and our school cooperates with, e.g. the university, museums and libraries.
Moreover, our school also organizes exchanges not only with countries near Germany but also with countries like Australia and China.

In addition to that, our school took part in a project to become more independent as far as pedagogical work is concerned. It was successful and was awarded by the ministry for schools.
Furthermore, our school is part of the MINT Excellence center which deals with science, maths and information technology.
